Crisis Drills & Exercises
Test your organization’s readiness level with crisis drills and tabletop exercises to identify strengths, target areas for improvement and greatly increase your crisis preparedness.
How You Succeed –
You would not launch a new product without research and testing, and the same is true for crisis response plans. Organizations that succeed in a crisis do so because they have laid the groundwork for success, and crisis response drills are a crucial piece of that groundwork! The news media, public, and others will make judgments about the effectiveness of your crisis response! Crisis drills allow you to test your readiness level and refine your plans, so you can succeed in the real world. Our crisis response consultants can help you plan and execute full drills, tabletop exercises and much more.
Option 1 –
You have several options from which to choose when you call on us. First, we can join a full-scale exercise planned by your organization to test the effectiveness of your crisis communication response. Our team takes on the roles of news reporters, bloggers, public officials, customers, politicians, neighbors and other stakeholders to test your readiness. We use custom crisis response feedback forms called CrisisScore™ to rate the effectiveness of your people as they communicate with the media and key stakeholders. At the conclusion of the exercise, we provide a full debriefing of our findings, so you know exactly what worked and how you can improve going forward. Afterwards, we can recommend additional training to improve your response.
Option 2 – The second option is a tabletop exercise. This is a great way to get your response plans off the written page without the interruption of a full-scale drill. Rather than actually simulating a disaster, we huddle with your crisis management team to talk through a simulated disaster. We focus on a scenario that unfolds in several segments and go into smaller breakout groups to discuss how each team would respond. Then, we facilitate a session where those results are shared and discussed.
Option 3 – This option is designed for small to medium-sized organizations that need help planning and executing full-scale drills to test their operational and communications capabilities. We provide guidance and work alongside your operations response team from conception to completion. At the conclusion of the exercise, we provide a full debriefing of our findings, so you know exactly what worked and how you can improve going forward. Afterwards, we can provide or suggest additional training to help you improve your response.
